Fairfield House, Shawford, Winchester
Fairfield House is a large 4 bedroom detached house situated in Shawford near Winchester.
The house extends to some 3,140 square feet with 4 double bedrooms on the upper floor and 3 reception rooms, a large kitchen/dining room and a conservatory on the ground floor.
The project took 12 months to complete with a GDV of £1.3m.

A key aspect of the design brief was to let as much natural light into the house as possible. The vaulted triple-aspect single story kitchen/diner also has four Velux windows which bathe the kitchen in light.

The vibrant colour scheme contrasts with areas of flat white to enhance the feeling of space, creating a very modern feel.

The conservatory opens up the house to the garden and also maximises the light coming into the living areas.

The house itself was built in the rear garden of a large detached property. An attractive laurel lined gravel driveway was installed which extends from the road along the side of the host property to the plot, which is at the rear. A key requirement of the project was to ensure that the privacy of both the new building and its immediate neighbours was maximised.
